Unplugging in Baguio: A Weekend in the City of Pines

Nestled in the mountains, the City of Pines, also known as Baguio, beckons to those seeking respite from the chaos of city life. It’s a haven not just for the weary, but for anyone yearning to embrace the present moment. I recently embarked on a journey back to Baguio City and crafted cherished memories along the way.

My days began in the serene embrace of The Forest Lodge, a sanctuary cocooned by pine trees and crisp mountain air. It was a haven away from the clamor of the city, allowing me to truly unwind and bask in the natural splendor that Baguio unfurls.

A highlight of my trip was the tranquil oasis of Hatch Coffee on Easter Road, where I savored the quietude and a rejuvenating Iced Spanish Latte amidst lush foliage.

Venturing to the Easter Weaving Room, I witnessed the dedication to preserving weaving heritage and empowering women through sustainable livelihoods. The intricate Cordillera weaves and native handicrafts spoke volumes about the cultural richness and innate talent of the locals.

I indulged in a delectable dining experience at The Barn, perched on the hills and offering a panoramic backdrop for a feast of fresh strawberry juices and tantalizing dishes.

Stumbling upon the enchanting Ili-likha Artist Village led me to the delightful Little Milkyway café, where I savored hot cocoa amidst art and gastronomic delights, losing myself in the moment.

The transition from dusk to night at SM City Baguio’s Sky Terrace, with the company of OPPO’s celebrity ambassador David Licauco, was a breathtaking moment of reflection and awe at the city’s skyline.

Throughout my journey, the Garmin epix Pro Smartwatch became a trusted companion, guiding me through obstacles in the Spartan Trifecta Weekend and helping improve my athletic performance.

Conquering the physically and mentally demanding Spartan Beast and Super races was a monumental feat, made possible with the support of the Garmin epix Pro. It provided valuable data to bolster my confidence and overcome every challenge.

My excursion to the City of Pines was an enriching oasis of peace and tranquility, a gentle reminder to savor the present moment and immerse in the serene beauty of Baguio City. It was a trip replete with unforgettable moments that will linger in my heart.
