As 2024 approaches, I have made the decision to prioritize console gaming over PC gaming. My experience with the Moog Grandmother synthesizer as a musician has inspired me to focus on the value of spending dedicated time with a gaming console rather than being constantly distracted by the digital world.

While PC gaming offers superior performance and a wide range of options, it often leads to a more distracted gaming experience due to the constant pressure for better graphics, higher framerates, and the need to stream and share content. I recently purchased Alan Wake II on PS5 after initially playing it on PC, and I noticed a significant difference in my gaming experience. Without the distractions of a web browser or the need to constantly adjust settings, I was able to fully immerse myself in the game. This experience has solidified my belief in the value of a dedicated gaming machine.

Although I still enjoy PC gaming and have a fondness for emulation, I am making a conscious effort to prioritize console gaming in 2024. This shift represents a return to the simplicity and intimacy of console gaming, allowing for a more focused and direct gaming experience. By focusing on console gaming, I anticipate rekindling the enjoyment and focus that initially drew me to gaming.
