From a humble beginning of 46 members in 1978, the group has now blossomed to include 100 community volunteers. Their most notable undertaking in 2023 was the installation of 11 automated external defibrillator (AED) units around town, with plans for four more in 2024.

President Sue Lunnin emphasized the group’s commitment to meeting this challenge and continuing to support the community, including providing assistance to 18 local schools in Cochrane and the surrounding area.

This extra space will enable them to continue serving the increasing number of individuals and families who rely on their services. The annual Share Your Christmas Program also distributed a record number of hampers, providing support to 404 families during the holiday season.

In 2024, they are determined to continue addressing the increased demand at the food bank, while also collaborating with other local organizations such as The Helping Hands Society of Cochrane and Area and Cochrane and Area Events Society.
