Title: Get Ready for an Exciting 2024 Women’s Lacrosse Season at Stony Brook University

The 2024 women’s lacrosse season at Stony Brook University promises to be an exhilarating one, as head coach Joe Spallina reveals a competitive schedule inclusive of two national semifinalists from the past season and 11 home games at LaValle Stadium.

The upcoming 17-game regular season will feature 11 home games, five true road games, and a neutral-site contest, marking it as the most home games in a regular season under Coach Spallina.

Stony Brook’s competition includes three teams that placed top 25 in the ILWomen/IWLCA Division I Poll, such as No. 3 Syracuse, No. 4 Denver, and No. 17 Johns Hopkins. Additionally, the schedule encompasses matchups against four teams that qualified for the 2023 NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship, including Syracuse and Denver, both of which advanced to the national semifinals.

The 2024 schedule encompasses eight CAA matchups, two games each against the Big East, Big Ten, and PAC-12, and one game against the ACC, America East, and Ivy League.

The Seawolves will commence their season in February with home games against Dartmouth, Bryant, and Arizona State, followed by matchups against Villanova and a road game at Syracuse in March. The team will then play against Johns Hopkins at The Crown event in Charlotte before returning home to face Denver at LaValle Stadium.

As the season progresses, Stony Brook will face conference opponents such as Towson, Elon, and Campbell and will have home matchups against Delaware and Rutgers. The season will conclude with road games at William & Mary and Drexel before returning home to close CAA play with a Battle of Long Island against Hofstra and a matchup against Stanford.

The 2024 CAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship will take place at LaValle Stadium, with semifinal action scheduled for May 2 and May 4. The team will aim to defend its CAA title in the 2024 season.

Game times for the upcoming season will be announced at a later date, and for those interested in attending the games, more information on Stony Brook women’s lacrosse tickets can be found at stonybrookathletics.com/tickets.
