A Snowy Southern Colorado Weekend Ahead

As the weekend looms on the horizon, it seems that southern Colorado is in for a delightful mix of sun, clouds, and occasional flurries of snow. If you find yourself in the beautiful Colorado Springs, brace yourself for a Friday adorned with fluffy clouds, with a possibility of a swift snowfall in the late afternoon and evening, resulting in just an inch of snow accumulation or even less. Pueblo, too, will witness similar conditions, with a break in the snow during the morning and early evening, only to be followed by another fleeting snow shower in the late evening, resulting in an inch or less of snow settling on the ground. In the magical land of Canon City, the snow will bid its farewell in the early hours of Friday morning, only to make a dazzling reappearance in the evening and night, covering the earth with an inch or less of snow.

If you happen to find yourself in the enchanting Woodland Park, anticipate a morning adorned with partial clouds, with snow making a whimsical return in the afternoon and evening, resulting in an additional inch or less of snowflakes settling down like a blanket. The Tri-Lakes area will wake up to a morning filled with partially cloudy skies and a refreshing absence of snow, only to witness a possible flurry in the late afternoon and evening, with an inch or less of additional snowfall. As for the plains, they will be graced with light snow showers and clouds in the morning, gradually dispersing in the afternoon. Walsenburg and Trinidad will observe a hiatus in the snow from late morning to early afternoon, before being graced with another snowfall in the evening, resulting in an additional inch, possibly even 2 inches, of snow.

Amongst the majestic mountains, the morning will be kissed by partly cloudy skies with no sign of snow until the afternoon and evening, when another flurry of snowflakes may dance through the air. This snowfall will gracefully move from north to south over the mountains, lingering into the night and early Saturday morning. Looking ahead, Saturday is projected to be chilly, about 10 degrees cooler than the average, with dry and partly cloudy conditions. Sunday, too, is expected to mostly dry, but a storm is set to sashay into the mountains on Sunday afternoon, making its way east along I-25 and into the plains late Sunday night and into Monday. This upcoming storm on Monday is anticipated to be colder and windier.
