How Samsung Food and AI Revolutionize Dinner Parties with Oliver Paterson

When it comes to hosting a fabulous soirée, the last thing you want is to be stuck in the kitchen all night while your guests are having fun. But fear not, thanks to Samsung’s use of AI technology, dinner parties just got a whole lot more exciting and effortless. At the recent Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024, Samsung Electronics brought in the culinary genius, Oliver Paterson, known by his online alias elburritomonster, to showcase how AI has revolutionized menu planning, cooking, and food sharing. With a whopping 40,000 followers on the Samsung Food app, Oliver was able to showcase his top dinner party dishes using Samsung’s smart kitchen appliances.

Samsung Newsroom was right in the midst of the cooking extravaganza, offering us a sneak peek into how Samsung Food will bring a fresh, contemporary twist to cooking in the kitchen.

Samsung Food has truly elevated the culinary experience by harnessing the power of AI to provide personalized recipes and dietary guidance. Since its launch in August 2023, the platform has served as a personal cooking assistant, guiding users in discovering new dishes, creating customized menus, managing ingredient inventory, and remotely controlling their cooking appliances. And the cherry on top? You can share your culinary masterpieces on social media! It truly is the ultimate platform for all food enthusiasts out there.

During the demonstration, Oliver demonstrated how he utilized Samsung Food’s features to whip up some sensational food for his dinner party. Using the image search feature, he snapped photos of the ingredients he had on hand and opted for a breakfast burrito with mango Pico de Gallo sauce from the recommended recipes. Oliver then showed how he personalized the recipe to accommodate the dietary needs of his guests, such as swapping regular cheese for vegan cheese and using gluten-free alternatives.

As he placed his ingredients into the fridge, the fridge’s AI Vision Inside feature snapped photos of them, creating an inventory list and automatically recording the storage date. Oliver couldn’t stop raving about the convenience this feature provides, eliminating the need to manually check expiration dates and even suggesting recipes based on the ingredients in your fridge.

The recipe Oliver saved on the Samsung Food app seamlessly appeared on his smart Slide-in Range, and with a simple press of the Start Cooking button, the optimal settings for the recipe were automatically set. He was also able to easily keep an eye on the recipe and remaining cooking time, thanks to the 7-inch LCD screen on the range. The finished burrito was shared on the Samsung Food Community, with many expressing their desire to give it a try.

Attendees at the event were blown away, with one commenting: “This looks like it will make organizing my refrigerator so much easier. I always forget what’s in there.” Another attendee couldn’t stop raving about the amazing burrito and expressed their interest in experimenting with Samsung Food to recreate it.

Samsung’s goal is to continue enhancing connections between devices to bring even smarter and more convenient experiences to consumers in the kitchen. The 2024 BESPOKE 4-Door Flex™ Refrigerator with AI Family Hub™+ and the Samsung Food app are innovations that promise to revolutionize kitchen experiences for the better. Excitingly, Samsung Food will continue to evolve and cater to users’ needs. You can download the app at samsungfood.com. All in all, Samsung Food and AI have definitely added a new flavour to the way we cook and entertain at home!
