Batten Down the Hatches: Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky Prepare for Strong Winds and Possible Snow

Brace yourselves, ladies and gents! A mammoth storm is on the horizon, ready to unleash its mighty winds and perhaps even a sprinkle of snow.

Our very own Head Meteorologist, Katy Morgan, predicts that this formidable system will descend upon Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky from late on Monday night to early on Tuesday morning. And believe me, it won’t be a walk in the park.

We’re talking about winds that could gust as high as 45 mph. That’s right, better secure anything that’s not firmly anchored down. Although these winds may not be classified as severe, they still pose a risk by potentially felling trees and power lines.

As if the winds weren’t daunting enough, hold onto your hats – we’re also in for another deluge of heavy rainfall. Anticipate around 1 inch of rain before it all subsides.

But wait, there’s more! With the arrival of cold air, there’s even a possibility that the rain might switch to snow. However, don’t get your hopes up too high, as we’re not expecting much accumulation. At most, we might witness a light dusting on the ground and a few icy patches here and there.

Here at the FOX 17 Code Red Weather Team, we’ll be monitoring this system closely. If the situation starts to look particularly precarious, we won’t hesitate to escalate to Code Red and provide you with all the latest updates.

In the meantime, ensure that you’ve downloaded our FREE FOX 17 News app onto your iPhone, iPad, or Android device. This way, you’ll receive all the necessary push alerts to stay ahead of the storm.

So, there you have it, folks. It appears that we’re in for an exhilarating journey over the next few days. Stay safe out there, and remember – we did warn you!
