The NHL recently disclosed the 32 players who will be participating in the 2024 NHL All-Star Game at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on Feb. 3. The announcement has created a lot of anticipation within the hockey community. Among the notable inclusions are Auston Matthews and Connor Bedard.
Matthews, currently the NHL’s leading goal scorer with 30 goals, will be representing the Toronto Maple Leafs as the host team. On the other hand, Bedard, the top pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, has been demonstrating exceptional skill for the Chicago Blackhawks, leading all NHL rookies with 33 points.
Fans will have the opportunity to engage in the 2024 NHL All-Star Fan Vote presented by MassMutual to select the final 12 players (eight skaters, four goalies). Voting will be open until Jan. 11th, accessible through NHL.com, X (formerly Twitter), and the NHL App.
The 2024 NHL All-Star Game will also feature seven players making their debut appearances. Alongside Bedard, players such as Frank Vatrano, Boone Jenner, and Sam Reinhart will bring a fresh and unpredictable dynamic to the game.
Additionally, six No. 1 draft picks in the NHL will be participating in the All-Star Game, including well-known names like Connor McDavid, Sidney Crosby, and Nathan MacKinnon.
The All-Star Weekend will host a variety of activities, including the return of the player draft in the new event, NHL All-Star Thursday. Celebrities will join captains to select four teams of 11 players, and the NHL Alumni Association will honor its Man of the Year. The Professional Women’s Hockey League will also feature a 3-on-3 game as part of the festivities.
The skills competition, taking place on Feb. 2, will have a revamped format, with twelve NHL All-Stars competing in eight different events for points, and the player with the most points will receive a prize of $1 million (USD).
The weekend will culminate in the 2024 NHL All-Star Game, promising a display of top-tier skill and athleticism. Tickets are currently available for the 2024 NHL All-Star Skills presented by DraftKings Sportsbook and the 2024 Hyundai NHL Fan Fair.
