Exclusive Peek into William Cloutier’s Family Life in Paris

Upon arriving in Paris a few months ago, William Cloutier felt out of his element, away from his family and everyday life. He was there at the behest of Luc Plamondon to audition for Starmania. Presently, William has made Paris his second home and is well settled with his wife and their two sons, Liam and Éloi. In this interview, he discusses his experiences as he takes the stage as Johnny Rockfort in the new version of Starmania at La Seine Musicale.

Upon returning to Paris, William discusses the simplified nature of his family’s life. Their son, Liam, has resumed schooling in Paris, and they have quickly settled back into their routine. After a two-month break to return to Quebec for their wedding and family visits, they are prepared for another stretch of performances at Starmania until the end of February.

Reflecting on his initial arrival in Paris, William describes it as a cultural and social shock. Despite the challenges, he secured the role of Johnny Rockfort with his impressive voice, likened to that of Daniel Balavoine, the original Johnny Rockfort. He also discusses the influence of Luc Plamondon and Michel Berger in creating an opera rock that addresses current issues.

When asked about his decision to participate in Starmania, William admits that it was a tough choice to temporarily put his personal tour in Quebec on hold. However, he emphasizes the significance of the Starmania experience in his artistic journey and how it aligns with his passion for performing.

Regarding his family life in Paris, William candidly shares that the city is not particularly family-friendly, with challenges in transportation and school schedules. Despite this, both his children, Liam and Éloi, have expressed their happiness in adapting to life in Paris.

As William’s family will be returning to Quebec in March when he goes on tour with Starmania, he emphasizes the importance of maximizing their time together in Paris. He also looks forward to identifying the destination for their honeymoon and cherishing the early years of his marriage with Sara.

Reflecting on his life choices, William is proud of his journey as a musician and a family man. Despite the unconventional order of events in his life, he is grateful for the experiences that have shaped him and his family.
