Once upon a time in the enchanting town of Wenatchee, a young girl of only ten years, Rosie Hughes, uncovered her passion for the art of embroidery. It all began when Rosie observed her mother engrossed in the delicate craft of embroidery and thought, “Wow, that looks so fascinating, I simply must give it a go!” And so, her journey into the world of embroidery commenced.

Rosie’s foray into embroidery was an adventure in itself – she meticulously sketched designs onto fabric and then painstakingly stitched over them. Starting with simple motifs of flowers and animals, Rosie’s skill blossomed, transforming her pieces into intricate and breathtaking works of art. She even graduated from using simple pencils to bold sharpies, making her designs pop with vibrancy.

As Rosie honed her skills, she yearned for her art to serve a greater purpose. With the upcoming festive season in mind, she was determined to bring some extra cheer to the hearts of many. This led Rosie to the decision to sell her embroidery creations and donate the proceeds to the local food bank. With the unwavering support of her mother, Sarah Sims, Rosie established her own mini-business, offering each piece for a modest price of £15 to £20.

Incredibly, Rosie’s heartwarming mission deeply moved those around her, and many were so touched by her initiative that they willingly paid double, or even more, for her artwork. Before she knew it, Rosie had amassed an impressive £160 for the Sage Advocacy Center’s food bank.

Filled with delight at her accomplishments, Rosie used a portion of the proceeds to purchase Christmas gifts for her own family, making their holiday celebrations even more joyful. The remainder of the funds was joyfully handed over to the local food bank, leaving Rosie with an overwhelming sense of happiness at the thought of making a positive impact on her community.

The Sage Advocacy Center is a local organisation that offers support and assistance to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and other crimes. Rosie’s generous donation will undoubtedly make a significant difference in the lives of those in need, thanks to her compassionate endeavors.

Though Rosie is currently sold out of her enchanting creations, she has not closed the door on the possibility of returning to her beloved embroidery hoop in the future.
