Record-Breaking Tourist Arrivals in Indonesia in November 2023

– Indonesia had 10.4 million foreign tourist visits from January to November 2023, up 110.86% from the same period in 2022
– Still lower than the pre-pandemic level in 2019, which saw 14.73 million visits during the same period
– In November 2023, foreign tourist visits reached over 917,410, a 30.17% increase from November 2022
– Majority of visits through primary gateways were via air transportation, accounting for 80.34%
– Foreign tourist visits through air transportation reached 646,920 in November 2023, a 50.45% increase from November 2022
– Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali and Soekarno Hatta Airport in Jakarta were the main entry points, making up 89.23% of the visits
– Hotel occupancy rates reached 56.72% in November 2023, up by 2.31% from November 2022
– Star-rated hotels experienced a 3.70% increase in occupancy compared to October 2023
– Riau Islands saw the highest increase at 17.08%, followed by Papua and Yogyakarta
– West Nusa Tenggara, West Sulawesi, and Bali experienced declines in hotel occupancy
