On the 20th day of filming for “That’s Paris”, a new series developed by Dominique Besnehard, production is underway in the 14th arrondissement of Paris. Actor Alex Lutz portrays the heir of “Le Tout-Paris”, an old cabaret that he aims to sell, under the direction of filmmaker Marc Fitoussi. Fitoussi, known for his work on “Call My Agent”, co-wrote the final season and helms the current project.
Drawing inspiration from his experiences, former talent agent Besnehard identifies a bar adjacent to his previous workplace for the series. The concept, which originated nine years ago from a suggestion by Rita Xenen, a lead performer at the Crazy Horse cabaret, focuses on the disappearance of traditional cabarets. Besnehard’s interest lies in exploring the human dynamics and behind-the-scenes atmosphere of these establishments, a narrative parallel to the acclaimed “Call My Agent”.
The show promises to feature original songs by Bertrand Burgalat and choreography by Kamel Ouali, all filmed at the iconic Paradis Latin. Actor Nicolas Maury portrays an avant-garde choreographer, with the series boasting extravagant revue performances. Production is slated to continue until February, with an anticipated release on France 2 later this year.
