2024: Indonesia’s Green Tourism Focus

Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, announced the successful achievement of 2023 targets, including increased domestic and foreign tourist visits.
Foreign tourist visits increased by over 35%, exceeding 8.5 million, with Batam City welcoming 1.5 million foreign visitors in the Riau Islands.
The ministry will focus on developing green tourism in 2024, prioritizing sustainability and environmental resource preservation.
Green tourism destinations for 2024 include Nirup Island Batam, Boyotomo Bintan, and Lagoi Resort Bintan.
The ministry is optimistic about more breakthroughs in 2024 and believes that the focus on green tourism will have a positive impact on Indonesia’s tourism sector.
