The forthcoming Paris 2024 Olympics will witness a considerable increase in hotel prices, according to a recent study by the consumer association UFC-Que Choisir. The study, published on December 26, highlights the exorbitant average prices set by hotel establishments for the period of July 26 to August 11, 2024, coinciding with the Olympic games.

The average price surge is a significant 226%, with the cost of a hotel room on July 26-27, 2024, reaching a staggering 1,033 euros, compared to the previous year’s 317 euros. The study, which analyzed the prices of 80 Parisian establishments near the opening ceremony site, exposes the extent of the price hike. Notably, some hotels have raised their rates by an astonishing 585% between the normal period and the evening of the opening ceremony.

Additionally, hoteliers have tightened reservation conditions, with 30% of hotels requiring stays of more than one night. These developments call for careful planning and consideration for travelers intending to visit Paris during the 2024 Olympics. It is crucial to stay informed about these escalating prices and reservation requirements in order to make well-informed decisions about accommodations.
