The gaming industry in 2023 saw a mix of successful and disappointing game releases. One such game, Baldur’s Gate 3, achieved a high Metacritic score of 96, while others failed to impress both critics and gamers.

Games like “Lord of the Rings: Gollum”, “Avatar: The Last Airbender Quest for Balance”, “Stray Souls”, “Greyhill Incident”, “Mortal Kombat 1 on the Switch”, “Skull Island: Rise of Kong”, “The Walking Dead: Destinies”, “Flashback 2”, and “The Day Before” all received low scores from IGN and Metacritic. The disappointment with these games ranged from failure to meet expectations to poor entertainment value, resulting in low user and critical scores.
In particular, “The Day Before” received the lowest score of 1 out of 10 on IGN and faced harsh criticism from publications, ultimately leading to the decision to shut down its servers in early 2024.
