In honor of Gustave Eiffel, the Eiffel Tower has partnered with the “Monumental Tour” project to present an extraordinary sound and light show. The show, filmed in November, will be broadcasted on television and social media on December 27, 2023, the anniversary of the death of the renowned French engineer.
DJ Michael Canitrot, known for promoting French heritage, spearheads this unique project. In 2019, he launched the Monumental Tour project, which consists of electronic music shows at historic landmarks across France. Previously, he performed at the Château de Pierrefonds and the Château de Vincennes.
The event in honor of Gustave Eiffel’s centenary will feature Michael Canitrot’s DJ set, a light show, pianist and DJ Yann Dulché, the Spectre choir, mezzo-soprano singer Yana Mann, and contemporary dancer Ablaye Diop, all taking place on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower.
The show was recorded without an audience on the nights of November 20-22, 2023. The resulting film, which aims to “pay tribute to the audacity and creative genius of Gustave Eiffel,” has been completed and features actor Philippe Torreton voicing commentary as the French engineer.
On December 27, 2023, the “Monumental Tour celebrates Eiffel” audiovisual concert will premiere on the Eiffel Tower and Michael Canitrot’s social media channels. It will then be broadcasted on the CStar channel at 10:50 PM and subsequently be available on Mycanal and the Canal+ group at other times.
