The New Year’s Eve celebration in Paris, hosted on Champs-Élysées avenue by the City of Paris, promises to be a spectacular event with a fireworks display.
The event is expected to draw a significant number of attendees, and for the 2024 celebration, the free event will be centered around sports in honor of the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. The event will feature DJ sets, a giant karaoke session, an aerial performance show by Deus ex machina, a “Ola” wave, and a live performance by Slimane singing “Mon Amour,” a contender for Eurovision 2024.
To secure a good spot and witness the eight-minute spectacle, it’s advisable to arrive early between Place de la Concorde and the Arc de Triomphe. The organizers reserve the right to close access in case of maximum capacity, as stated on the City of Paris website.
There are guidelines and restrictions in place for attendees, including the prohibition of glass bottles and containers on the event site, bag checks, and security pat-downs. Road closures and parking restrictions implemented by the Paris Police Prefecture will affect the Champs-Élysées area, which will be pedestrianized starting at 6 p.m.
Several metro and RER stations in the vicinity will be closed to the public during the event.
For those unable to attend in person, the event will be broadcast live as part of “La Grande Soirée du 31 de Paris” exclusively on France Télévisions.
