Two days before the Champs-Elysées fireworks and the start of an Olympic year, Emmanuel Grégoire, the Deputy Mayor of Paris, was interviewed by France Bleu Paris.
As part of the New Year’s Eve celebrations, the “Grand Evening of Paris 31” show will be aired on France 2 and France Bleu Paris. The highlight of the evening will be the traditional fireworks display on the Champs-Elysées at midnight, but an ambitious attempt to break a world record is also in the works.
“We aim to organize the world’s largest ‘ola’, which we hope will bring together several hundred thousand people, from 500,000 to a million,” revealed Emmanuel Grégoire on France Bleu Paris. He advises people to arrive early, avoid coming by car, and mentions that several public transportation lines will be operating all night for free.
