Missed Opportunity: Christophe Landrin’s Failed Transfer to PSG

Former LOSC and ASSE player, Christophe Landrin, was almost set to join Paris Saint-Germain in 2005 following his departure from Lille as a free agent. However, a significant injury prevented him from making the move at that time.

Currently, Leny Yoro and Lucas Chevalier are being considered by PSG as potential new players, and their departure from LOSC to join the team in the French capital is a distinct possibility. This transition has been previously made by players such as Christophe Landrin, who joined PSG in the 2005-2006 season following his departure from LOSC.

In an interview, Landrin disclosed that he was initially supposed to sign with PSG, but a double fracture sustained during a match against Toulouse halted the transfer. He ultimately joined PSG in 2015 after his contract with LOSC expired, as the team chose not to extend it, rendering him a free agent. Landrin stressed that the terms of the transfer or his market value were not the primary motivators for his move.

Recounting the incident, Landrin detailed that the double tibial plateau fracture he suffered resulted from an unavoidable collision during a game, causing him to be sidelined from the field for an extended period.

While Landrin’s missed opportunity to join PSG due to injury may have been a setback, his eventual transfer to the team underscores his resilience and determination in pursuing his football career.
