In a recent criminal act, a high-end jewelry store in Paris became the victim of a burglary that occurred during the night from Wednesday to Thursday. The targeted store, Marthan Lorand, situated in the VIIIe arrondissement, was infiltrated by thieves who utilized scaffolding to gain access to the fourth floor of the building and subsequently entered the jewelry store. The estimated value of the stolen jewelry exceeds 100,000 euros, with the most valuable pieces believed to have been taken.

Upon the triggering of the store’s alarm around 3 AM, security personnel conducted an investigation and discovered evidence of the break-in, despite the main door being closed. This incident represents the second time that the jewelry store has been subject to a burglary, as a similar event occurred in October 2021, resulting in the theft of jewelry amounting to 100,000 euros.

An inquiry into the recent burglary has been initiated, with authorities suspecting the involvement of organized crime. The Paris Public Prosecutor’s Office has assigned the case to the first district of the judicial police.

The utilization of scaffolding to gain unauthorized access to the store mirrors the modus operandi of the previous burglary, where the same technique was employed. This recurring strategy indicates a potentially organized and calculated approach by the perpetrators.
