Get ready for a feast fit for the gods, as Coimbatore prepares to host the much-anticipated Taste of Coimbatore food festival. From January 5 to 7, the bustling Codissia grounds will be transformed into a culinary wonderland, drawing in food enthusiasts and festival-goers with the promise of tantalising treats.
Presented by the Coimbatore District Hoteliers’ Association as part of Coimbatore Vizha, the festival is set to showcase over 70 renowned brands and restaurants, with a staggering 160 stalls offering a diverse array of delectable delights. From the aroma of exotic spices to the sizzle of street food, this festival will be a true feast for the senses, catering to every palate. But the fun doesn’t stop at food – expect lively entertainment with captivating music performances and vibrant Tamil folk art displays.
“The festival combines food and fun, providing an unforgettable experience for all who attend,” said K.A. Ramasamy, president of the Association.
The stalls, open from 5 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. over three days, will feature the best dishes from local eateries and restaurants. “We want visitors to have the chance to sample a variety of dishes, so many stalls will offer smaller portions at reasonable prices,” explained C.V. Govindarajan, the Association’s treasurer. “This way, everyone can indulge in multiple gastronomic delights without breaking the bank.”
Adding to the excitement, most stalls will have live cooking counters, allowing attendees to witness culinary magic in action. Furthermore, around 15 food-related companies will be participating, further enhancing the festival’s gastronomic offerings.
For those eager to join in, entry tickets will be available from December 30 at select hotels, as well as on Paytm and Book My Show. Alternatively, tickets can be purchased at the venue for a bargain price of ₹ 249 each, starting from 3 p.m. on the event days. The grand opening will be graced by District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati on January 5, marking the official start of the three-day extravaganza.
