Bidding Farewell to Hannah: Charlton’s Departing Defender

Well, it seems like Hannah Godfrey is kicking it out of the park and saying farewell to Charlton Athletic Football Club as her contract wraps up in December. The 26-year-old defender strutted her stuff with the Addicks last summer and has been a real game-changer for the club’s first fully-professional women’s team.

Not only did she show off her top-notch defensive skills, but Godfrey also stepped up as vice-captain for the 2022/23 season, working alongside former captain Emily Simpkins to lead the Addicks to victory. Head Coach Karen Hills had some sweet words for Hannah, wishing her all the best and giving her props for bouncing back from an ACL injury last year. Looks like Hannah’s got some serious determination, and we can’t wait to see her back on the field, doing her thing.

Before she heads off, everyone at the club made sure to send Hannah off with warm wishes for the future and a huge thank you for all her hard work during her time at Charlton.

Sending her good vibes and acknowledging her efforts, we’re eager to see more of Hannah Godfrey in the future. Best of luck out there, Hannah!
