Scholarship Arryman 2024 Launched in Collaboration with SOAS University of London

The Indonesian Scholarship and Research Support Foundation (ISRSF) is proud to announce the launch of the Arryman Scholarship for the year 2024, with the objective of enhancing education and research in Indonesia.

ISRSF, an organization established by Indonesian and American scholars, is dedicated to fostering scholars and providing scholarships for Indonesia. The program is a collaboration between ISRSF and the esteemed SOAS University of London, marking a significant initiative to elevate the quality of research resources and higher education in Indonesia.

Irfan Hutagalung, the chairman of ISRSF, has expressed his enthusiasm, stating that the foundation is wholeheartedly committed to supporting the young generation of Indonesia in attaining globally recognized higher education. He also emphasized that the Arryman Scholarship offers a path for Indonesian scholars to deepen their knowledge in the fields of economics and public policy.

In 2023, ISRSF sent the first cohort of talented young individuals from Indonesia to study at prestigious universities in the UK, including SOAS University of London.

The Arryman Scholarship is designed to provide comprehensive support to aspiring young academics from Indonesia who aspire to pursue their education from M.Sc. to Ph.D. at SOAS University of London. The program encompasses all educational expenses, accommodation, roundtrip airfare from Jakarta to London, health insurance, research support, and living expenses throughout the study period.

Irfan also highlighted that “this scholarship program is distinctive and may be the only one in Indonesia where, after the recipients complete their studies up to the Ph.D. level, they are prepared for a position in Indonesia as world-class academics and researchers.”

The scholarship is open to Indonesian graduates with a strong academic record. The selection process entails administrative evaluation and rigorous interviews to ensure that only the best candidates are chosen. Applicants must also demonstrate strong dedication to return and contribute to Indonesia after completing their studies.

The deadline for applying for the Arryman Scholarship is January 31, 2024. The selection will take place thereafter, and the announcement of successful candidates is scheduled for April 2024. Irfan encouraged ambitious and dedicated young Indonesians to take advantage of this opportunity, as the program is expected to open up more opportunities for Indonesian youth to contribute to the advancement of education and research in Indonesia and on the international stage.

He emphasized that “their success will have a significant impact on the advancement of research and higher education in Indonesia, especially in the fields of economics and policy.”
