Furthermore, the organizers of the Brandenburg Gate New Year’s Eve festivities have also barred the use of pyrotechnics within the celebration area. The previous year witnessed serious disturbances in various parts of the city, with firecrackers being aimed at the police in neighbourhoods like Neukölln, Schöneberg, Gesundbrunnen, and Spandau. In light of these incidents, the Berlin police have announced the deployment of an additional 2800 officers on duty for the upcoming New Year’s Eve celebration to ensure the safety and security of the citizens.
