The recent Guthrie 2023 Holiday Community and Caregiver Food Drive has been an extraordinary success, all thanks to the remarkable generosity of the community! From November 28th to December 15th, people from all corners came together to donate non-perishable food items at Guthrie’s five hospitals, including Cortland. And let me tell you, the response was absolutely astounding!

In fact, the donations ended up weighing a literal ton – now that’s what I call a ‘hefty’ contribution! All this food will be given to organizations like Child Hunger Outreach Partners, Corning Food Bank, and the Seven Valleys Health Coalition to help combat food insecurity. It’s incredible to witness how a small act of kindness can have such a profound impact, isn’t it?

Guthrie, the brilliant minds behind the food drive, said, “We understand that community health begins with a healthy meal at home, and we are proud to support efforts to ensure that individuals and families have access to nutritious and sufficient food.” What an astonishing group of caring individuals they are over at Guthrie, wouldn’t you agree?
