Just steer clear of the salted varieties, or mix in some raw nuts with the salted ones to slash your sodium intake while still enjoying that satisfying crunch.

3. Fruit
Swap out that bag of chips for a couple of small bananas or a handful of juicy oranges. They’re just as filling in terms of calories and provide a healthy dose of vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber. Plus, they’re a much healthier way to satisfy those snack cravings.

The truth is, we often reach for chips not because we’re actually hungry, but for other reasons like boredom, a need for a pick-me-up, or simply out of habit. But these reasons aren’t good enough to justify chowing down on something that’s working against our heart health.
